One Community Health (formerly La Clínica del Cariño Family Health Care Center) is a nonprofit Community and Migrant Health Center, serving people in the Columbia River Gorge area, which includes residents of Hood River and Wasco Counties in Oregon, and Klickitat and Skamania Counties in Washington.
La Clínica first opened its doors in Hood River, Oregon in 1986 as the region's first migrant health center, primarily to provide medical services to the area's migrant farm workers. Within the first two years, La Clínica recognized that many other people living in the community needed better access to high quality, affordable health care, and we recieved designation as a Community and Migrant Health Center shortly thereafter. Our designation as a Federally Qualified Health Center means that we receive funding from the federal government to support our mission to provide low-cost health care and dental care to people who would otherwise not be able to afford it.
La Clínica began providing dental services at its Hood River location in 1995. In 2003 we opened a second clinic site in The Dalles, Oregon, where we provide both medical and dental care to that community.
